Pick Ru up from Hopehill Lodges, perfectly located just outside of Penrith, in the Eden Valley, a perfect start for any route around the Lake District, the Pennines, Northumberland, or up into Scotland. Alternatively, if you live close by, and wish to drive south to explore the Yorkshire Dales, the Peak District, Wales, or even the South Coast, Ru would be a great companion to take you there!
Wherever you wish to go, Ru is a reliable and comfortable van to take you there. Perfect for a trip for two or a solo mission, this VW California is fitted with all the basics you need for a comfortable drive and stay. Ru has one double bed located in the VW Pop Top Roof and is fitted out with a compact kitchen and sofa. We hope you enjoy her as much as we do!

Please read the following hiring criteria carefully. You must adhere to the following:
- The hirer must be 25 years of age or older.
- The hirer must have maintained a full, clean driving license for at least 2 years.
- The hirer must be able to provide a copy of the drivers’ license photo card ID (N.B. the address & ID must be up to date)
- An online license check will be carried out on your driving license information, as DVLA license checks can only be carried out on driving licenses issued from the mainland UK.
- The hirer must provide two copies of proof of address (matching the drivers’ license address) from two separate sources e.g. utility bills, council tax bill, tenancy agreement, bank statement, payslip, etc.
Before enquiring please note:
- There is no smoking or vaping allowed in the van.
- No off-road driving is allowed.
- The van is a perfect mode of transport and accommodation all-in-one for your UK-based road trips. Each road trip itinerary will need to be discussed before the rental is agreed upon, please enquire.
- We have various suggested road trip itineraries for your van rental with us, please enquire.
- Festivals will be considered, please enquire.
- Pets will be considered, depending on their size, breed, and temperament, please enquire.
- Discounts are available for longer bookings, please enquire.
- Full instructions and a van tour will be given upon collection and a van condition check will be undertaken on return of the van.
- The hirer must return the van as clean as possible, back to the condition it was collected in, or an additional cleaning fee will apply.
- The van must be cleaned thoroughly inside and washed externally before its return.
- The van must be returned with the same amount of fuel that it was collected with (a full tank of diesel).
