Our little cabin in the woods – cosy and full of character

3 night minimum stay

The Hut is set in 11 acres of private woodland, with as few trees cut down in its vicinity as possible, to truly magnify the sense of privacy and immersion into the wild you’re looking for. In the summer you will feel part of the woodland with nothing but birdsong to keep you company, and if you’re lucky maybe a deer or an otter passing by. In the winter if feels more like a cosy Alpine cabin, where you can hideaway from the cold by the wood burner; get deep into your book or enjoy some of the board games we have to play. Unlike most cabins, The Hut is very generously sized and has a fully equipped kitchen and large shower so you won’t feel restricted, whether you choose to stay in or use it as a base for some adventures. Styled on traditional post and beam structures but with modern touches; this in an immersive space that you won’t want to have to say bye to.

Thank you so much for the most amazing week at Hopehill Lodges. The Hut is absolutely incredible. I've had such a relaxing week - ready for the new term.

A cosy cabin escape in a beautiful location. I felt so wonderfully far away from city life here, and loved spending an evening reading by the fire, then waking up to views of snow on the Pennines outside. Mornings out on the deck with a cup of coffee, just watching the gentle movements of the forest, were so tranquil. The proximity to Penrith and Ullswater was great too, there's so much to explore nearby!
