Sitting somewhere between a cabin and a treehouse, the Woodshed is set in 11 acres of private woodland, with as few trees cut down in its vicinity as possible, to truly magnify the sense of privacy and immersion into the wild you’re looking for. In the summer it feels like you are part of the canopy, with nothing but bird song and if you’re lucky, maybe a deer or an otter passing by below. In the winter if feels more like a cosy Alpine cabin, where you can hideaway from the cold by the wood burner; get deep into your book or enjoy some of the board games we have to play.
Unlike most cabins/treehouses, The Woodshed is very generously sized and has a fully equipped kitchen and large shower so you won’t feel restricted, whether you choose to stay in or use it as a base for some adventures.

We were looking for somewhere to stay where we’d be immersed in nature, with zero distractions for 3 nights - and boy did we find it! The Woodshed is just lovely - set high amongst the trees, we spent hours sat watching all the wildlife do their thing outside. We only left the cabin briefly for a stroll through the woods one morning but other than that, we lit a fire, played board games, did a jigsaw, read books and just completely disconnected from the world. We felt like the only people for miles and miles. Sometimes a cabin/treehouse is limited in terms of facilities by design, but not here! It really was a home from home - a full sized oven and hob, absolutely glorious shower and a super comfy king sized bed. Honestly, Katie and George had provided absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. We have already talked about coming back in the summer or even the depths of winter so we can really enjoy the lovely fire again! Just a perfect place to escape and switch off. We were sad to leave and can’t wait to go back!
SarahGorgeous, cosy, super spacious & beautifully designed cabin. Peaceful location for the perfect forest bathing experience. Enjoyed walking into the woods on our doorstep, the cosy log burner & sitting on the outside deck with a glass of birthday fizz! Perfect
LynnWhat an absolutely hidden gem! I have never felt so relaxed during a stay at a cabin before. The location in the woods was truly magical, with the creaking and rustle of the trees in the wind, I spent hours on the balcony just listening to nature do it's thing. The cabin was really spacious and had everything you could need to bed-in, whilst also being right on the doorstep of the Lake District. We spent the evening cooking up a delicious meal, playing Bananagrams, reading by the fireplace and in my case then falling asleep on the sofa in front of it!
