Terms & Conditions
1.Terms
Our site is a working site with animals and plant & machinery. We will minimise the movement of plant while you are staying with us and due to the distance between the lodge and general work, disturbance will be at a minimum.
We are animal lovers but generally don’t accept pets for various reasons, apologies.
NO smoking in or near the property; if you do smoke outside please dispose of used cigarettes carefully so as not to cause any fires.
The usual check-in time is 4pm (subject to unavoidable delays) and check-out time is 10am. The property should be left, clean and tidy, as you found it, with the departure instructions followed. Additional cleaning and repairs may incur additional charges. You are responsible for any damage done or loss sustained during your stay.
We reserve the right to alter prices on the website, which may go up or down. We will advise you of the current Price at the time of booking. The terms and conditions for bookings may change from time to time. Please check at the time of booking.
2. Number in your party
The total number in your party must not exceed the capacity of the accommodation as advertised by us, without prior arrangement. Our site is suitable for children under 10 only unless otherwise agreed.
3. Payment
A booking is confirmed on receipt of the full balance.
4. Cancellation
Cancellation more than 6 weeks from the arrival date, 100% refund, less transaction fees of 2%.
Cancellation up to 2 weeks from the arrival date, 50% refund, less transaction fees of 2%.
Cancellation less than 2 weeks from the arrival date, no refund of the total rental amount paid unless dates can be resold. We recommend you take out insurance to cover you if you have to cancel and we are unable to refund you.
Very occasionally, unforeseen circumstances as defined in clause 9, we may have to cancel your booking. We will tell you as soon as possible and offer you an alternative date. We regret we cannot pay compensation or any reimbursement of any expenses or costs you may incur as a result of any such cancellation or change.
5. Unreasonable Behaviour
We reserve the right to refuse to hand over accommodation if the unreasonable behaviour of anyone in your party is likely to cause offence to members of staff or local neighbours. In such cases all hire charges will be refunded as soon as reasonably practicable, the contract will be terminated and we will have no further liability. We reserve the right to terminate a holiday after the keys have been handed over, if the unreasonable behaviour of anyone in your party is likely to impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of others or members of staff. In these circumstances, no refund will be given. We also reserve the right to ask any person(s) who is not suitable due to unreasonable behaviour, damage to property, danger or annoyance to others to leave the site. In this event, no refund will be due.
6. Damage to Accommodation
You are liable for any damage caused in the accommodation during the period of hire. We reserve the right to enter any accommodation (without prior notice if this is not practical or possible) if special circumstances or emergencies arise (for example if repairs need to be carried out). You are liable for any damage to the accommodation during the period of hire. Accommodation not left as found, in a clean and ordered state will also be charged for extra cleaning/repair as appropriate.
7. Security Deposits
You may be asked for an additional deposit at our discretion. This is payable prior to your arrival and will be returned to you at the end of your holiday, provided that your accommodation is undamaged, clean and tidy.
8. Unforeseen circumstances
Unforeseen circumstances include any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such circumstances include the destruction or damage of your accommodation (which cannot reasonably be remedied to a satisfactory standard before the start of your holiday) through fire, explosion, flood, storm or other weather damage, break-in, criminal damage, riots or civil strife, industrial action, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, war or threat of war, actual or threatened terrorist activity, epidemic and all similar situations beyond the Our control.
9. Your Vehicles
Your vehicles, their accessories and contents are left entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for any loss or damage from or to any vehicle. There is a signed space near the cabin for your vehicle.
The Sauna Terms & Conditions

1. Alcohol and nudity are not permitted in the sauna.
2. Children aged 16 and under are not permitted to use the sauna.
3. Sauna etiquette must be adhered to at all times. This includes;
- Sitting on a towel at all times
- Staying in the sauna for no longer than 20 min at a time (we recommend 5-15 min sessions)
- Only pouring the provided ‘sauna water’ on the hot stones; no other liquids or oils permitted!
- Gently pour water; drizzle, do not dump water!
- Do not lean over or touch any part of the stove
- Entering and exiting quickly (to reduce heat loss) and in a safe manner
- Wipe feet clean before entering
4. Any hanging jewellery should be removed before entering the sauna to prevent burning. (Please also check your swimsuit for metal parts – these will heat up and may cause burning).
5. Any glasses or contact lenses should be removed before entering the sauna to avoid any damage to coatings and to prevent contact lenses from drying out.
6. The heater is exclusively used by staff – Please ask the sauna operator to make any adjustments.
7. Hopehill Lodges Sauna operators reserve the right to refuse entry, cut short, or cancel sessions for any reason that may be deemed a health and safety risk, if there are concerns about risky behaviour, or if any of the above rules are not followed. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.
Acknowledgment of risk and responsibility, and release of liability
By accepting these terms and conditions you are also assuming all risk and responsibility for death or personal injury, damage or loss to personal property, in your participation in the sauna.
All persons using the sauna do so at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety and personal property. If you have any reservations regarding sauna use, it is essential that you consult your GP before making a booking. DO NOT attempt to use the sauna if you suffer from any of the below without seeking medical advice prior to using
- pregnant
- had a heart attack or stroke or arterial disease
- taking any medications
- have cardiovascular conditions and/or problems
- have epilepsy
- have asthma or breathing conditions
- have high or low blood pressure
- have joint or muscle injury
- are prone to dizziness or fainting
